Categories
Categories group dream symbols by what they are about rather than by what form they take. A single category holds objects, events, and omens together, which makes this the right way in when you remember the subject of a dream but not the exact word for it.
This site offers three ways in, and categories are the most useful when the memory of a dream is still vague. The alphabetical index assumes you already know the exact word. The number index runs the other way, from a number back to its symbols. Categories start from the subject, so remembering «there was an animal» is enough to begin.
The boundary between categories follows the subject of the dream, not the form of the page. «Bitten by a snake» is an event by form, but its subject is still a snake — so it belongs under Animals. The rule is applied consistently so that everything about one subject collects in one place.
Each group has its own way of being read, and recognising that is more useful than memorising a list. Animals are read through behaviour, objects through use, people through their position relative to the dreamer, nature through season and ripeness, and events through what changed. Each category page explains its own rule in full.
